Business:
Parking Lot
Signs were in place, as well
as individual notices placed on each unit's door, alerting all to the fact
that the parking lots will be repaved Thursday, September 25th. All
cars must be out of the lots no later than six a.m. that morning.
Any vehicles left will be towed at the owners expense. Weather permitting,
work should be completed by early evening. A separate time will be
arranged for the lots to be marked off and painted.
Past Due Accounts
The status of past due accounts
was briefly discussed.
Water Meter System
The updated proposal from Paul
Matthys and Randy Ross of Water Systems, Inc. was discussed briefly.
It was decided that a committee should be selected who can review, research,
and formulate a plan for implementing this system. This committee
will consist of Board Members Charles Baird, Shirley Williams, Jo Simpson,
and Wes Short. Charles will Chair the committee and arrange a date
soon
for the committee to conduct their first meeting. Final findings/recommendations
will be presented to the entire Board of Directors at an upcoming meeting
in the very near future.
Financial Report
Bart Jones distributed copies
to all of the August 24, 2003, Financial Report and answered several questions.
Previously a copy had been mailed to each board member.
Cable/Direct TV
As the problem of improperly run wires and satellite dish locations become more and more prevelent, it was decided rather than adopt the Direct TV proposal outlined by Bob Dailey recently, the Board will ascertain which units are in non-compliance with the rules regarding this (specifically Rule #9 in the Altamont Patio Condiminiums Rules and Regulations). A proposed draft letter will be prepared by Jo Simpson and presented to the Board at the next meeting. This letter will outline our restrictions and installation requirements and, upon approval, will be sent to Direct TV, Dish TV and Brighthouse Cable Company, as well as all property owners, stating that they need to make any present installations compliant and abide by same on all future installations.
Laundry Room
The Automatic Laundry Company
(ALC) will be installing the Maytag front load washers and matching stacked
gas dryers within the next month as voted on in the August meeting.
New Business:
It was proposed and agreed upon that we would place a new mercury vapor light in proximity to the mailboxes to insure adequate illumination for this area. Also, a curently empty (unused) mail box (between B17 and C1) will be allocated and marked as such, the new "outgoing mail box". The box will be locked and thus alleviate anyone removing mail from the outbox as this has been a problem in the past.
Derry Crawford addressed the issue of "ivy control" and has volunteered to provide his expertise in this matter.
The problem of household garbage being placed in the trash can adjacent to the mailboxes was discussed.
Concern regarding an "ivy laden" tree adjoining the Hilltop complex that might adversely affect the area of B15 was discussed. Bart Jones will check into this matter for the Association.
Clarification of Rule #8 was questioned by Jo Simpson. The rule states that For Sale and For Rent signs are not allowed on the grounds at Altamont Patio. It was decided that "grounds" includes placement of signs on or in units as well. Three units are presently in non-compliance and will be notified.
It was discussed that a committee should be formed to review and make proposed necessary changes to the present Rules and Regulations. This matter will be addressed further at the next meeting. It was suggested that Presley Burns might Chair this committe.
Presley Burns was nominated and voted in as our new Vice President.
Next Meeting
The next Association meeting
will be on Tuesday, October 28, 2003 at 6 pm at Metcalf Realty. All
association members are encouraged to attend.
Minutes were prepared and posted
by Jo Simpson.
